Project CASL

Project CASL (Chinese American Successful Living)

This study is supported and funded by the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. This project will examine the school adjustment of Chinese American adolescents by conceptualizing school success as including academic and social-emotional domains. Results from this project may provide information for school and mental health professionals to see and appreciate students for who they are rather than for their stereotypes, and to work in culturally sensitive ways to support students’ academic and social-emotional needs. We are collaborating with a network of Asian American community organizations and social services agencies in the Houston metropolitan area, and plan to expand this project to include additional Asian American and Pacific Islander groups in future research.
